EX-MILITARY CYBERSECURITY STUDENT LEARNING TO BREAK, BUILD, AND PROTECT COMPUTER AND COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS
About Me
Hey, I'm Jake. I'm a cybersecurity student with a passion for digital privacy, cyber defense operations, and threat intelligence. I'm constantly learning about network security, proactive cyber defense, system hardening, and penetration testing to help defend the digital infrastructures that we depend on every day.
My journey in cybersecurity began after leaving the Air Force Reserves and wanting a new way to serve and defend the people and country I love so much. I have been building computers since I was a young child, so the shift into Cybersecurity has been was a natural one. I love the complexity of computer systems and learning how push them past what they were designed to do.

Projects
My GitHub Page
Aside from my main projects listed here, I have several other projects I am working on. Please feel free to visit my GitHub to see what else I have in the works.
Red Hat Hardened Server
Installed Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 on a virtual machine and hardened it to enterprise and government standards. I used OpenSCAP to scan the system and report vulnerabilities. I then used the recommendations and/or provided scripts to rectify the issues in order to meet the CIS Benchmark at 90%.
BashMon System Monitor
BashMon is a system security script I am writing for my home computer. I love the linux ecosystem and have wanted to learn bash scripting for a long time. So, this is my first significant project written entirely in bash.
R34PR EDR (EARLY Dev)
R34PR(Reaper) is an endpoint detection and response tool I am currently building. It is not intended for real use, but is an exercise in learning the ins and outs of EDR. This project is in very early development.
